1 个基点是多少？How much is one basis point?
1 bp = 0.01 个百分点 = 0.0001。利率从 5% 升到 5.25% 就是上升 25 个基点。1 bp = 0.01 percentage point = 0.0001. A rate moving from 5% to 5.25% is up 25 basis points.
为什么用基点而不用百分比？Why use basis points instead of percent?
说「上涨 1%」时容易混淆是上涨 1 个百分点（5% → 6%）还是上涨 1%（5% → 5.05%）。基点只表示百分点的变化，没有歧义。"Up 1%" is ambiguous: one percentage point (5% → 6%) or one percent of the rate (5% → 5.05%)? Basis points always mean percentage points, so there is no doubt.
