Each can carry an emblem — a star, a ring of 3–50 stars, a grid of up to 100 stars, a disc, a crescent and star, a sun, or up to 12 characters of text or emoji — with its own colour, size and position.

Why are there no ready-made national flags?

The tool is meant for original designs — class, team and club flags, or fictional nations in games and stories. Real national flags have strictly defined proportions and emblems, and some countries restrict how their flag may be used, so no copy templates are provided; use the officially published artwork if you need a real national flag.

Should I download SVG or PNG?

SVG is a vector image that scales to any size without blurring — best for printing a real flag or other print work, or for editing further in Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma. PNG is a bitmap from 600 to 3,600 px wide — best for avatars, chat apps, documents and slides.

What does a ratio like 2:3 mean?

Flag ratios are written height:width. 2:3 is the most common (France, Japan), 1:2 is longer (the UK, Canada), 3:5 is also popular, 10:19 is the US flag's ratio and 1:1 is square (Switzerland). The emblem stays in the right place when you change the ratio.

Is my design uploaded?

No. The flag is generated and previewed as SVG in your browser and the PNG is drawn locally; nothing is sent to a server.
